Welcome to CabRIMA

The Caribbean Research & Innovation Management Association (CabRIMA) is the professional body for research and innovation management in the Caribbean community (CARICOM). It is a regional network of research and innovation management (RIM) practitioners

CabRIMA is positioned to be the premier organisation in the Caribbean for promoting best practices in the management, administration, and support for research and innovation, to stimulate the translation of research results into policies, practices, and products that will facilitate sustainable socio-economic development of the region. CabRIMA intends to achieve its mission by offering training, capacity building, and professional development to its members and encouraging policy dialogue among triple-helix decision-makers – those in academia, industry, and government.

The establishment of CabRIMA is a major outcome of RIMI4AC, the acronym for the European Union/African Caribbean & Pacific States funded project “The Improvement of Research & Innovation Management Capacity in Africa and the Caribbean for the Successful Stimulation and Dissemination of Research Results.” The RIMI4AC project is implemented by nine partners across southern, eastern, central and western Africa as well as in the Caribbean. CabRIMA was formed in October 2010, with its Secretariat within the School of Graduate Studies, Research & Entrepreneurship, University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech). Current membership of the Association comprise representatives from several research and innovation organizations across the Caribbean region. The official working language of CabRIMA is English.
